waxesnostalgic: Victorian bat lady (Default)
dark_moon has posted the gift I made for her in the Garden of Shadows Secret Santa event.

You can see the rest here.

Unicorngurl180 also made me a lovely gift, which is full of vintage goodness. You can check out at GoS as well.
waxesnostalgic: (White dress)
I have always thought lalabubus's Short Calla Lily Dress was adorable, but I didn't like the shoes very much. So here's a little something I did while learning to mesh, in case anyone wants it. I swapped out the wedges for some nice Sentate pumps. It is in all of lalabubus's original colors, but I removed the stockings, and since I altered the mapping a bit on the dress, it may look a little wonky. :)

The dress is for adult females and is in everyday and formal. Credit goes to lalabubus (dress) and Sentate (shoes).

EDIT: I've updated the file, so if you downloaded before and it didn't work, please re-download!
waxesnostalgic: (1920s)
So, I'm learning how to mesh now, though I'm being a bit slow about it. I decided to start with editing one of Trapping's dresses to make it less fitted and more of a loose shift dress suitable for the 1920s and the 1960s "20s revival". The dress itself is a combination of some of Bunheadbuns meshes, I believe.

I think I'm going to put Trapping's oxfords on it next. But mostly I'm excited that my first mesh didn't explode. XD
waxesnostalgic: Ada (Ada - sims 2)
I've been wanting to make this dress in real life for a while now, but I don't think I will ever be a good enough seamstress. XD This dress was designed by the fashion designer Lady Duff Gordon in 1916, and is designed for wearing to dinner. I think there are a few of these dresses still around today, but the one I based my version on is located in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Lucile Duff-Gordon was an innovative fashion designer who was one of the first to use live models for her clothing and also invented a precursor to the fashion show. She's also famous (notorious?) for hogging her own lifeboat as she escaped from the Titanic. I find her dresses innovative and unusual, and think that most of them are still pretty classy today.

Here are two of my favorite sims from the Good Genes Challenge at Garden of Shadows. You can see my challenge here. The three maxis sims I used were Kimberly Cordial, Stella Terrano, and Jenny Smith. Download behind the cut )

I've got a little cafe set for you, 1920s style and grungy. Object recolors because I don't mesh. :) Three chairs, three tables, four curtains and ten magazines.

My working on Sims things was somewhat difficult last week due to finals and a giant tornado, but I am back to it now. :)

Well, I thought I should have some content that was just for my DW, so here are two things I have been working on.

There was going to be more to this contribution, but my sister doesn't have time to make a new mesh this month, she said, so it is just recolors.

Here are some vintage (1920s) sports clothing for males and females.

A tour of my hood is coming soon... hopefully.

This is my new dreamwidth, where I will be posting sims 2 stuff like custom content downloads and picspam so that I won't clog up my livejournal.

Here's a little preview of what I am doing right now:

For my 1920s project, which involves a hood, sims, and of course, clothing. :)

And, I need a post to test out my DW layout...
